Youth getting ready for livestock show

TRINITY – With local 4-H and FFA students devoting part of their summer holiday in the care of their livestock projects, 2011 is shaping up to be another great year for the Trinity Community Fair’s livestock show and auction. So far a total of 42 steers, swine, goats and lambs are lined up for the event and once the rabbits are validated, the overall number of entries will increase. The 62nd annual fair is scheduled for Sept. 23-24 at the Trinity Community Center with the annual livestock auction coming on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 24, in the show arena. In addition to the livestock show, the annual fair will feature the traditional exhibits ranging from fine arts to produce and baking to home canning. Those interested in showing support to the 4-H and FFA students exhibiting livestock are encouraged to either come out an bid during the auction or join one of the buyer’s groups. Buyers groups and the addresses where contributions may be sent include: • Trinity Buyers Group, PO Box 1362, Trinity, TX 75862 • Outlaws & Saints, PO Box 26, Trinity, TX 75862 • 7-11 Buyers Group, PO Box 1669, Trinity, TX 75862 • Fair Traders, PO Box 467, Trinity, TX 75862 • For the Kids Buyers Group, 176 Waltz Lane, Trinity, TX 75862 All interested parties can register prior to the auction during the Buyer’s Reception scheduled for 5 p.m. on Sept. 24. The fair’s livestock committee is reminding all buyers that payment for the animal (cash, check or letter of credit from their bank) is expected immediately after the auction and buyers need to be prepared to notify the Trinity County Fair Association of the disposition of the animal at time of the sale.
