Meth lab discovery ends with 3 arrests
Trinity Standard -
GROVETON – Three people were arrested on drug charges last week when Trinity County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a report of a suspected methamphetamine lab. Markus Floyd, Rodney Floyd and Amelia Forrest were all charged with felony possession of chemicals with the intent to manufacture controlled substances. All three were placed under $50,000 bonds by Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace Bobby Nicholds. According to Sheriff Ralph Montemayor, the arrest came when TCSO Narcotics Investigator Paul Shipper received information about a possible drug lab operating at a residence on Turner Street, just outside the city limits of Groveton. Shipper went to the residence to talk with its occupants and while their found empty pseudoephedrine packages, fertilizer, batteries, lye, acetone, glassware, plastic hose, scales and muriatic acid – all items used to manufacture methamphetamines using the “shake and bake” method. All three people found in the residence were taken into custody at that time.
