Trinity Standard -

TRINITY – To raise awareness among members of the community that heart disease is their No. 1 health threat, East Texas Medical Center-Trinity will host a series of events during the week of Feb. 6 to promote Heart Health Month. A special event designed to honor outstanding employees, that also includes lunch prepared by ETMC Trinity Administrator Warren Robicheaux, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 9, beginning at noon The employee recognition is part of the ETMC WOW! program that rewards staff members for exemplary service to guests and fellow team members. A highlight of the event will be the presentation of a proclamation declaring February as Heart Health Month by Trinity Mayor Lyle Stubbs. On Friday, Feb. 11, members of the community, as well as ETMC team members, will have the opportunity to visit the Carter BloodCare Mobile Unit from 1-5 p.m. during the annual blood drive. Donors must be at least 16 years of age, weigh 110 lbs and provide personal photo identification. According to Robicheaux, "This series of events is a great opportunity to reach out to members of the community and alert them to their personal risk factors for heart disease. By joining together we can raise awareness locally about heart disease and help lead citizens on the path to prevention."
