TRINITY – A 24-year-old Glendale man was pronounced dead at the scene of an early Christmas morning accident in the Glendale community. Cheyenne Cody Shaw died when the pickup he was driving went out of controlled and rolled over in a hay meadow. According to Trinity County Sheriff Ralph Montemayor, the mishap occurred about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 25, in a pasture located off the Glendale Cemetery Road. “He and his brother were cutting donuts with the pickup when the truck went out of control and flipped over,” Montemayor said. The sheriff said Shaw was driving and when the truck began to flip over, he was partially thrown out the window. As the Ford F-150 pickup continued to roll, Shaw was half-in and half out of the vehicle and was crushed. The off-road accident occurred on private property that did not belong to either Shaw or his brother, Zane Durdin, 18, Montemayor said. After the mishap, Durdin was able to walk to a telephone to call for help. He was later treated for minor injuries and released from East Texas Medical Center-Trinity. Funeral services for Shaw were held Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the Glendale Baptist Church. Burial followed in Glendale Cemetery. |
