Football practice kicks off on Aug. 4

TRINITY – The 2008 Trinity Tiger football team will begin practice for the coming season at 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, at Trinity High School.
Players may pick up equipment from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, at the THS field house.
The Tiger varsity will open play on Saturday. Aug. 16 when they host Franklin in a controlled scrimmage starting at 10 a.m. They will then travel to Woodville on Friday, Aug. 22, for their second scrimmage starting at 6:30 p.m.
They open their regular season on Friday, Aug. 29, when they travel to Buna to face the Cougars at 7:30 p.m.
The first home game of the season will fall on Friday, Sept. 5 when the Tigers host Warren.
Other non-district opponents this year will include Tenaha, Hardin and Shelbyville.
The Tigers will open District 21-2A play on Oct. 10 when they travel to Groveton to meet their cross-county rivals for the first time since 2001.
Other schools in Trinity’s district this year include Centerville, New Waverly, Buffalo and Corrigan-Camden. |
