Tip leads to drug charges
Trinity Standard - July 2008
TRINITY – A tip given to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Department lead to Saturday’s arrest of a 30-year-old Trinity man on drug charges.
According to Sheriff’s Deputy Donald Fisher, David Raack was arrested Saturday at a Coach Village residence in the Westwood Shores subdivision by Deputy Paul Shipper.
He was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, which is believed to be cocaine.
“Deputy Shipper received a call from (Sheriff Brent Lee) regarding a tip that a subject was in possession of a large number of needles, a controlled substance and possibly prescription pills,” Fisher said.
The deputy went to the Coach Village address identified in the tip and talked with Raack.
After receiving permission to conduct a search, Fisher said the officer did find less than a gram of what was believed to be cocaine. The substance has been forwarded to a Texas Department of Public Safety laboratory for formal analysis.
Shipper also discovered a number of needles and other drug paraphernalia as well as a small quantity of prescription pills
