Police arrest theft suspect
Trinity Standard - July 2009
TRINITY – A 28-year-old Trinity man wanted in connection with the theft of a car on July 18 was arrested last week in a mobile home in the 100 block of South Street.
Edwin Bolin, who formerly resided in Huntsville, was found hiding in a heating closet at the mobile home by Police Chief Steven Jones and Officer Travis Bryan.
Jones said other officers had gone to the residence earlier after receiving a tip he was there but were unable to find him.
“He was sitting on top of the heater inside the small closet area. I just happened to see his feet through a vent as I was walking by,” Jones said.
Bolin is charged with stealing a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Track that was parked in front of the Los Panchitos Restaurant off Highway 19 South. The keys had been left in the vehicle and the doors were unlocked.
The truck was recovered at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday, July 19, by parked behind the Brookshire Brothers grocery store in Trinity. Jones said the vehicle had been ransacked and a number of items, including a computer, tools and a car stereo and amplifier had been stolen.
All of the stolen item except for the computer were recovered inside the mobile home hidden under floor vents, Jones said.
