Fair theme honors Trinity’s 100th year
Trinity Standard -
TRINITY – The 100th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Trinity will be saluted during the 61st Annual Trinity Community Fair planned for September. “Celebrating the Past, Shaping the Future – 100 years of Trinity Pride” will be the theme for this year’s fair. Although the Trinity has existed since the 1800s, the city was formally incorporated in 1910 and the first meeting of the Trinity City Council was held in January 1911. The annual fair is planned at the Trinity Community Center on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 24-25. Invitations have been sent to food and craft vendors who participated in last year’s fair. New vendors are also welcome to apply and placement will be on a first come, first served basis. Vendor applications are available on the Fair’s website at www.trinitycommunityfair.com. The website has been completely redesigned with lots of pictures from the 2009 fair. There is also a link to the fair’s new Facebook page. The public is invited to post their memories, pictures & ideas for the fair and tell their friends about it. Trinity 4-H and FFA members are busy feeding, grooming and training their animals and although the deadline for entering an animal has passed, there is still plenty of time to display other talents. Area citizens are urged to enter their wares in Needlecraft & Sewing, Horticulture, Fine Art, Applied Art & Collectibles, Home Baking, Home Canning and Produce. The rules for entering are available on the website. The fair program is being prepared for the printer, but local businesses still have an opportunity to support the fair by purchasing advertising in the book. Prices range from $25 for a small black & white ad to $175 for a full color page. For information, email email@example.com or leave a message at the Trinity Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, 936-594-3856.
