Avalon Place has new administrator
Trinity Standard -
TRINITY – Craig Cannon has been named as the new administrator of Avalon Place in Trinity. Raised in Plainview, Cannon earned his degree in economics from Texas A&M University. He became interested in skilled nursing care through a friend who worked in the profession. “I felt a calling to work in the skilled nursing and rehabilitation environment,” said Cannon. “My degree is in economics and that background lends itself to ensuring the business side of the health care center operates smoothly and that resources are allocated wisely; however, more importantly as an administrator in this profession, I have the ability to make a profound impact on the lives of seniors and their families.” Cannon began working as an assistant administrator in Liberty in 2009 while working to obtain his nursing facility administrator license. Most recently, he worked at Gulf Health Care Center in Texas City, which is operated by Southwest LTC, the company that also operates Avalon Place. “I feel fortunate to be a part of the team at Avalon Place for two reasons,” he said. “First, I have been impressed with the dedication of the staff here at Avalon Place. “Secondly, I am amazed and humbled at the level of support that this community gives to Avalon Place. That this community has formed a non-profit group, Friends of Avalon, to support the residents here is unheard of. This level of support has a far-reaching impact on the quality of life for the people who rely on Avalon Place for services. “This community support serves to increase my resolve to do everything I can to ensure Avalon Place provides our residents with the very best environment possible. “I look forward to working with the residents and staff at Avalon Place and with the people in this community,” he added.
