Fugitive located by Crime Stoppers tip

GROVETON – A 31-year-old Trinity County man wanted on a probation violation warrant was taken into custody last week by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Department. Nathan Snider was arrested on Thursday, July 12, in Trinity by sheriff’s deputies assisted by Pct. 2 Constable Sterling Johnson. Snider was on probation after being convicted on burglary of a habitation charges. According to Sheriff Ralph Montemayor, Snider was believed to have been hiding in Oregon for several months prior to his arrest. However, last week, investigators received a tip through the Trinity County Crime Stoppers program that the suspect had returned to the county. Based on the information from the tip, Montemayor said officers were dispatched to Trinity and picked up the suspect in he Milltown area. Montemayor voiced his praise for the local Crime Stoppers program and encouraged the public to support that group’s activities.
