Texas independence is theme for 2011 fair
Trinity Standard -
TRINITY – A salute to Texas independence will be the theme of the annual Trinity Community Fair planned in September. Fair officials announced the theme in honor of the 175th anniversary of Texas' independence from Mexico. “The 62nd Trinity Community Fair Salutes Texas Independence, 1836 - 2011” will be the official theme of the annual fair. The event will be held at the Trinity Community Center on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24. Invitations have been sent to food and craft vendors who participated in last year's fair. New vendors are also welcome to apply and placement will be on a first come, first served basis. Rules and applications are available on the fair's official website at www.trinitycommunityfair.com or by contacting Julia McMichael at 936-355-6402. Many Trinity 4-H and FFA members are busy feeding, grooming and training their animals. Previous winners in painting, baking, quilting and more are already planning their entries for competition and all local citizens are urged to enter their specialties. Those rules are also available on the website. Plans for the fair program are underway, taking on the challenge to make it bigger, better and more colorful every year. Local businesses will soon be given the opportunity to support the fair by purchasing advertising in the annual fair book. Those who don't receive a call may McMichael or email firstname.lastname@example.org. To keep up with fair news, visit the Trinity Community Fair on Facebook. The page picked up 274 friends in its first year and the TCFA would like to bring that number to at least 400 before this year's fair,.
