Homeowner walks in on burglary

GROVETON -- Chrissy Gayle Kelly, 49, of Trinity was arrested June 7 on a burglary of habitation charge filed in connection with a break-in reported June 4 at a Merrywood subdivision weekend home. According to Sheriff Ralph Montemayor, the homeowner walked in on the burglary and the suspect left the area. Trinity County Deputy Victoria Carrier launched the investigation and found that a firearm and assorted knives were missing from the residence. Kelly was arrested by Deputy Jon Archer on a public intoxication complaint as well as the burglary charge. She was ordered to be held under a $15,000 bond.
