Weslow seeks to withdraw from city election
Trinity Standard -
TRINITY – Julian Weslow, who became the last candidate to file in the Trinity city council elections, has notified city officials that he plans to withdraw from the race. Weslow filed seeking the Position 2 council seat in the May 8 election. His exit would leave incumbent Wayne Huffman and former Mayor Billy Jack Walker in the Position 2 race. This year in the Trinity City Council election, the mayor and three council positions will be on the ballot. Each carries a two-year term. In the mayor’s race, Lois Saldana is challenging longtime incumbent Mayor Lyle Stubbs. Incumbent Position 1 Councilman Clegg DeWalt and Position 2 Councilman Chris Dennis are both unopposed. Early voting will run from April 26 to May 4 and polls will be open election day, May 8, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
