Harvest Dinner set Nov. 6 at First Methodist
Trinity Standard - November 2008
TRINITY – A total of 65 turkeys are set to be served up on Thursday, Nov. 6, during the annual Harvest Dinner hosted by the First United Methodist Church of Trinity.
Volunteers are now working behind the scenes to prepare the annual feast, with some baking as many as 25 of the turkeys.
In addition to turkey, the meal will include dressing, sweet potato casserole, green beans, homemade cranberry sauce and lots of desserts.
Cost of the meal is $10 for those over 10 and $5 for those between the ages of 5 and 10. Children under 5 will eat free.
The meal will be served at the church or available for takeout. A group of volunteers in a separate serving line prepares the takeout meals and carry them to cars as they drive by the church on Caroline Street.
Ladies from the church are preparing 45 sweet potato casseroles that will be needed for the event. Many of the women have been baking cornbread and freezing it in preparation for making the dressing.
Tickets for the dinner are available from church members, from the church office or by calling the church at 936-594-3826, Bobbie at 936-594-9245 or Katy at 936-594-3956.
