Task force nabs suspect
Trinity Standard - November 2009
TRINITY –A 45-year-old Trinity man was jailed on marijuana and drug paraphernalia charges last week after a multi-agency task force swarmed a Trinity residence.
Robert Sebastian “Pony” Houston was arrested at a residence at 1009 Lue Street in Trinity, according to Trinity County Sheriff Ralph Montemayor.
He was charged with two counts of delivery of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released after posting two $5,000 bonds.
Montemayor said the arrest came on Thursday, Oct. 15, when a team of officers executed a search warrant at the Lue Street residence. The warrant concluded a month-long investigation.
Agencies involved in the investigation included the Trinity and Walker county sheriffs’ departments, Huntsville Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety Narcotics Division and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency.
Montemayor said the investigation and subsequent arrest demonstrates his department’s commitment to stop drug trafficking in Trinity County.
“I also appreciate the combined efforts of all the outside agencies that came to our aid,” he said.
