Workday set Nov. 14 at Inspiration Village
Trinity Standard - November 2009
TRINITY – To help get ready for the its planned opening in the spring of 2010, Inspiration Village will host a workday starting at 8 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 14.
Located on a 95-acre tract off Highway 94 east of Trinity, Inspiration Village will become a work and life skills training center for mentally challenged Texans.
Volunteers are now being asked to turn out for the Nov. 14 workday to help mow, pick up debris, cut brush and work on the interior (basic cleaning) of the buildings.
Those with tractors for moving heavy objects, brush hogs, chain saws and other equipment are needed. Organizers note there are a few heavy objects that would require a large tractor or bulldozer to move.
Lunch will be provided.
Inspiration Village is a non-profit organization formed in February 2005 with the long term goal of building a small, working ranch for adolescents and adults with intellectual challenges who would not otherwise be able to live productively in an independent setting.
The rural ranch setting will allow individuals to live, work and grow emotionally and spiritually as well as allowing them to become as independent as their physical, mental and behavioral disabilities allow.
Those who would like to volunteer for the workday are asked to contact Mike Fulsom at 594-7091 or David and Connie Price at 594-1588. If no one is home, callers are asked to leave their name and contact information so they can return their call as soon as possible.
Additional information about Inspiration Village may be found on their website, www.inspirationvillage.org.
