Free tickets offered for Christmas show
Trinity Standard -
TRINITY – The generosity of the City of Trinity will assure that all area children will receive free tickets to a musicial show presented Saturday, Dec. 4 as part of the Courtdown to Christmas celebration. Sponsored by the Trinity Peninsula Chamber of Commerce at the Old Red School House in Trinity, the annual event will feature the formal lighting of the Community Christmas Tree, a lighted Christmas parade as well as performances by local entertainers. Highlighting the event this year will be the Dallas-based troupe, Time 2 Celebrate. The troupe’s website says, “Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer join Santa Claus’ daughter, Christy Kringle, in this fun and charming 15-minute musical show. The dialogue is snappy and the songs will have everyone on their feet singing and dancing to their favorite Christmas classics.” Counting down the days ‘til Christmas will really be a blast! The free tickets will be available in Trinity schools, banks and at Brookshire Brothers. Organizers of the annual Christmas festival said there is still time to join the lighted Christmas parade. Trinity 4-H members and other agriculture students will once again be decorating Santa’s float and are promising it will be better than ever. Those who have always wanted to be in the parade but don’t have a ride, are invited to call the chamber and they will try to find a spot for them on a float. Anyone who needs help decorating a float can come to Old Red on Thursday, Dec. 2 for advice and assistance from chamber members and other parade veterans. Anyone who would like his or her car, truck or other conveyance included in the parade judging must fill out an application. Entry forms are available at the Chamber, online at www.trinitychamber.org (click on Coming Events) and at the Trinity Auction Gallery. There is no entry fee.ت Businesses are being asked to light up the parade route and the rest of downtown with outdoor decorations. Entry forms are available at the Chamber, online www.trinitychamber.org and at the Trinity Auction Gallery. Judges will review the entries on Friday, Dec. 3, and trophies will be awarded on Saturday. There are still openings on the schedule for local entertainment. Singers, dancers and other musicians can contact the chamber at 594-3856 or call Julia McMichael at 936-355-6402.
