Droddy named as interim AD
Trinity Standard - October 2008
TRINITY – Defensive Coordinator Eric Droddy has been named as the interim head football coach and athletic director at Trinity High School following the reassignment of former AD Rob Davis.
School Superintendent Dr. Bobby Rice said he reassigned Davis to the position of director of the Alternative Education Program (AEP) effective on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Rice said Droddy, a graduate of Trinity High School, will remain as the defensive coordinator for the Trinity Tiger football squad but will also take over the duties of interim head coach and athletic director at least through the end of the current football season.
Coach Eugene Lafitte also will remain as the team’s offensive coordinator.
A search for a permanent AD will begin once the current football season comes to an end, Rice said.
Other personnel changes made last week included Don Hill, who was moved from the post of AEP director to that of dean of students at the high school.
Rice said the changes were made “for the good of the district,” and declined to make any other comment.
Davis was named as the AD in May 2007 and led the Tiger football squad to a 4-6 season last year. Mid-way through the 2008 season, the team is 0-4 with district play set to get underway Friday when the Tigers travel to Groveton to take on the 1-3 Indians.
