Livestock ready for start of community fair
Trinity Standard - September 2008

TRINITY – Trinity 4-H and FFA members are ready with 40 livestock entries when the 59th Annual Trinity Community Fair opens next week.

The students have devoted much of their summer vacations to caring for the animals and are hoping to be rewarded at the fair’s livestock auction set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20.

A reception for livestock buyers, under the direction of Regina Rodriguez, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the Trinity Community Center Annex prior to the auction. A fajita dinner is being catered by Roland Kane of Trinity Café.

During the reception, the rules for the auction will be reviewed, including the requirement that payment for the animals must be made at the time of the auction.

Anyone who is not currently registered as a buyer who would like to participate should call Auction Chair Jolie Lane at 662-5082 for information.

The fair will get underway on Friday, Sept. 19, with the judging of the market animals starting at 9 a.m. in the show arena.

The judging of other non-commercial entries into the fair – ranging from needlecraft and art to home baking and canning – will get underway at 10 a.m. inside the Trinity Community Center.

Fair officials also have announced that the fair catalogs have arrived and are being distributed to supporters. A limited number also will be available at the Trinity Peninsula Chamber of Commerce’s information booth located inside the exhibit hall.
