GROVETON – A 20-year-old Groveton man was back in custody Monday following an escape from the Trinity County Jail. Christopher Calvin, who had been arrested early Monday on charges of deadly conduct with a firearm, was subsequently charged with resisting arrest and escaping custody. According to Trinity County Sheriff Ralph Montemayor, the suspect was recaptured at his residence three hours after the escape. Montemayor said that after the Calvin’s initial arrest, he was placed in the booking room where he managed to slip out of his handcuffs and escape from the jail at 12:25 a.m. Several officers were called in to search for the man and he was soon located at his residence on Devine Street in Groveton.
