Trinity Standard -
TRINITY — On Wednesday Sept. 25, Emmitt Asbury was arrested after being captured by K-9 Mundra. Deputy Pickel, Deputy Sikes, K-9 Deputy Mundra and Sheriff Woody Wallace, with the Trinity County Sheriffصs office responded to Jungle Village sub-division off FM 356 to execute a Felony Arrest Warrant on Emmitt Asbury. Asbury, who lives in Jungle Village Sub-division, hid in the attic at his residence when officers knocked on the door. When officers entered the house K-9 Mundra alerted towards the attic. Deputy Sikes opened the attic door and announced that the K-9 would be released into the attic. At that point Asbury attempted to exit the attic by tearing a hole in the ceiling on the far end of the house. When officers tried to grab him, Asbury ran through the attic and his feet broke through the ceiling in several places. Asbury then broke through the side of the house and was able to get on to the roof. After running around on the roof for several minutes, he then jumped to the ground and began to flee on foot. K-9 Mundra was released and captured Asbury after a brief foot race. Asbury was taken into custody without any further incident. Asbury was wanted for violating the terms of his probation. Asbury is currently on probation for Burglary of a Habitation and is now facing a possible prison term of 10 years in TDCJ.
