TRINITY — Around 2 am Sunday Oct. 6, Officer Jones noticed Charly Peek, 27, driving when it was well known she did not have a valid driver's license. Jones initiated conversation with Peek and asked for a good reason to be taking the risk of a ticket or possible detention. Peek who had just been released from jail for a probation violation tried to explain she was going to cash a lottery ticket. Jones explained that reason was not enough and she would be issued a citation for driving while her licensed was suspended. As she stepped out of her vehicle a baggie containing methamphetamines fell off of her person and at the feet of Jones. Officer Barak noticed the baggie and took Peek into custody. She is charged with a felony possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. She is being held on a $45,000 bond.
