Store owner gets arrested
Trinity Standard -
GROVETON — Wednesday, Oct. 2, Cho Thoi Huynh, 64, owner of One Stop in Groveton, was arrested for two counts of selling alcohol to a minor. Shelby Wainwright, 20 years old, had been arrested the day prior and gave a written statement to authorities that he had purchased alcohol at that store twice the day he was arrested, Oct. 1. Initially, Wainwright's father had come to the Trinity County Sheriff's Office and made a complaint that his son had been purchasing alcohol at that location. When officers got to the scene Wainwright was in the parking lot, drinking beer. When officers approached him, he resisted. There was a struggle and two officers took a blow, landing Wainwright with felony charges. After the arrest Trinity County Sheriff, Woody Wallace, pursued the complaint of selling alcohol to a minor. When Huynh was confronted with the charge he allocated other stores that do the same. Regardless, he was taken into custody and released the same day on bond. Wainwright is still in custody facing charges of two counts, first degree felony, aggravated assault against a public servant. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.
