Meth bust lands three in jail
Trinity Standard -
TRINITY — On Oct. 10 three individuals were arrested on drug charges. Benjamin Hanson, 27; Amanda Miles, 25; and Dennis Durdin, 41; were all charged with Felony Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Initially, K-9 Narcotics Deputy, Justin Sikes, conducted an undercover purchase for methamphetamines, Hanson sold the drug to Sikes. That act allowed them to obtain a combination search and arrest warrant for Hanson. The warrant was obtained within 24 hours of the buy and Bearnie Beard, JP Pct. 2, granted the warrant. Trinity Police Department surrounded the home and Officer Jones was the first on the scene. He knocked on the door and it opened a little so he announced himself and his warrant. Upon entering the home he found Hanson sitting at the table. The owner of the home, Dennis Durdin, was asleep in the living room. They woke Durdin so they could continue the search. During the search officers found additional methamphetamines, prescription drugs Xanax and Vicodin, along with cash and drug paraphernalia. Based on what was found at the scene they subsequently charged Miles and Durdin as well. Trinity Police Department, Trinity County Sheriff's Office and District Attorney, Bennie Schiro, worked together to obtain the warrant for 310 Clegg St., where Hanson was residing at that time. Schiro, was called to the scene at a late hour to proof the warrants and documents for accuracy. "It's always great to have a D.A. that is willing to come out and assist us with our documents." Jones stated. All three are being held at the Trinity County Jail in Groveton.
