Head Start seeks donations

TRINITY — The Greater East Texas Community Action Program is kicking off the 2013 holiday drive for children in Trinity County. Donations of toys and other items are currently being sought. Active toys such as bicycles, balls and jump ropes as well as dolls and other toys can be donated. Monetary donations will be accepted as well and 100% of the donations will go toward items purchased for needy children in the Trinity County area. All monetary donations are tax deductible. Donations will be collected at two locations; The Trinity Head Start located at 808 Lakefield in Trinity and at the Community Action Office located at 111 Magee in Groveton. "There are lots of families in Trinity County who will struggle to do anything for their children at Christmas. This drive is important for children in public schools as well as Head Start." Stated Dinah Fransaw of the Trinity Head Start Program. The Greater East Texas Action Program provides services including Head Start and has a special partnership with the Salvation Army and Toys for Tots. Donations for this drive will be accepted until Dec. 13. Businesses, organizations, and individuals are encouraged to support this effort.
