Robbery suspect now in custody
Trinity Standard -
TRINITY – A 34-year-old Trinity man was in custody in Montgomery County this week after being picked up on an aggravated robbery warrant issued in Trinity. Kenneth Miller was arrested Feb. 12 by the Conroe Police Department in connection with the Jan. 20 armed robbery of the Trinity Valero convenience store. Trinity Police Chief Steve Jones said Miller was currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail and would soon be returned to Trinity County to face the local charge. The robbery occurred around midnight on Jan. 20 when an armed, masked man walked up to the pay window of the local store and demanded money. The bandit narrowly escaped being caught when Trinity Officer Travis Bryan pulled his patrol car onto the convenience store's lot and circled around to go through its drive-thru window. Investigators believe that when the suspect saw the patrol car, he fled on foot. When Bryan pulled up to the window, the store clerk told him what had just happened and the officer attempted to pursue the suspect but lost him about a block south on Robb (Highway 19) in the area of the Super Z Store. Bryan was quickly joined in the search by two deputies from the Trinity County Sheriff's Department but were unable to locate the suspect.
