Art exhibits sought for 64th annual fair
Trinity Standard -
TRINITY — Area artists are being invited to take part in the last free fair in Texas, when the 64th Annual Trinity Community Fair opens Sept, 27-28. "Big Dreams in a Small Town" is the theme for the 2013 edition of the fair, which is open free of charge to exhibitors and spectators alike. The fair will be exhibiting art works in various mediums, including oils, watercolors, pen and ink, pencil, charcoals, pastels and crayon. No tracings are allowed. Each item submitted for exhibition and judging must be mounted or framed with a mounted hanger. A small card listing the artist's name, subject, media and whether it is an original or copy must be placed in the lower right hand corner. Judges will be graduates of the Sam Houston State University Art Department. Entries will be accepted starting at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Trinity Community Center, which will serve as the fair's exhibit hall. Exhibitors will be required to fill out a short form and sign it. The form will list the name of the person who is authorized to pick up the artwork at the end of the fair if it is someone other than the exhibitor. A separate division will exhibit children's art drawn at local schools. For more information about the art show, contact chairpersons Irene Sanders or Penny Willmann at 594-3501.
