Chamber planning July 4 picnic
Trinity Standard , June 2007
TRINITY – Planning is now underway for “An Old-Fashioned Family Fourth of July Picnic in the Park,” hosted by the Trinity Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.
While details for the event have not been finalized, organizers are scheduling it for Wednesday, July 4, at the Trinity Community Center grounds.
“The Fourth of July is the quintessential small town American holiday and we felt that a party the whole family could enjoy was a good idea,” said Chamber President Bill Fogle.
“Since the holiday is in the middle of the week this year, many people will not be able to travel but will still be looking for something special to do,” he added.
Last week, the City of Trinity announced that it was discontinuing the traditional holiday street dance but would continue with its fireworks display. The fireworks are scheduled for Saturday, July 7, starting at dusk over the old football field/community center area off Highway 19 South.
While planning for the picnic is still underway, Fogle said it will include “great food, games, entertainment and a bicycle parade.”
Anyone interested in helping the chamber with the event is asked to email them at info@trinitychamber.org or call 594-3856.
