Trinity man jailed for armed robbery
Trinity Standard - March 2008

TRINITY – A 45-year-old Trinity man was being held in the Trinity County Jail early this week under a $75,000 bond following an armed robbery reported early Sunday, March 9.
Marion Beasley was taken into custody on an aggravated robbery charge within hours of a holdup reported at the Valero convenience store (formerly Diamond Shamrock) in Trinity.
Beasley was arrested by Trinity County sheriff’s deputies off FM 1617 in Trinity.
According to Trinity Police Chief Lynn Gentry, witnesses reported that a man armed with a handgun entered the store about 2:25 a.m. and demanded the cash from the register.
The clerk on duty surrendered $60 and the gunman fled from the store on foot, Gentry said.
Witnesses identified the bandit as Beasley and the robbery was captured on video tape.
Trinity Officer Chris Molandes was called to the store by a silent alarm where he met sheriff’s deputies Travis Bryant, John Rayford and Thomas Parks. The officers began searching the area but did not immediately locate the suspect.
He was arrested later in the day when deputies spotted him on FM 1617.
