Community fair plans drawing contest

TRINITY – Area children are being asked to take part in a drawing contest to develop a picture to be used to promote the 58th Annual Trinity Community Fair.
The fair, scheduled for Sept. 21-22 at the Trinity Community Center, will carry a 2008 them of “Fun for the Whole Herd” and fair organizers are seeking drawings of “happy cows” to help promote the event.
The winning drawing or drawings will be used in the annual fair program and in other advertising.
All children 12 and under in the Trinity area are invited to submit a black and white drawing depicting cows having fun at the fair.
Drawings should be done on plain, white paper and have the artist’s name, address, phone number and age written on the back.
Entries should be turned into to the Trinity Community Fair Association at the Trinity Peninsula Chamber of Commerce office, 702 S. Robb, no later than Wednesday, Aug. 1.
The schedule of event for the 2008 fair is still being finalized by the association but among the traditional events that will be included are the carnival, food and craft booths, competition and educational exhibits, entertainment, the Trinity Fair Queen pageant, the
Little Miss September pageant and the fair parade.
The fair program and schedules should be available after Labor Day.
Commercial booth space is still available both inside and outside the community center and anyone interested should contact the fair association through the chamber of commerce office, (936) 594-3856.
