While you were busy wondering if the students at the University of Chicago would be gifted by the powers that be with HIV tests, dental dams and Vaseline, there were other insidious events taking place in the country.

For instance, the Biden administration has deemed that audit rates for the “wealthiest” of U.S. taxpayers will be increased by 50 percent.

The tax-funded black hole that is Washington, D.C., will up its usage of taxpayer funds to ensure that certain taxpayers are paying their fair share.

Additionally, the audit rates for large corporations are going to triple, all of this funded by the euphemistically called Inflation Reduction Act.

It’s said, though, that citizens of this bankrupt country making less than $400,000 will be left alone; however, if Unca Joe’s jackboots start dunning companies, then any additional costs will of course be passed on to the middle class.

While you were being underwhelmed with the constant and never-ending lawsuits and trial being slapped against President Trump, a Texas member of Congress and his wife were indicted on bribery charges.

Apparently, Henry (D-Texas 28) and Imelda Cuellar are accused of accepting more than $600,000 in bribes from an Azerbaijani energy company in exchange for the congressman’s influence benefitting the company within U.S. energy policy.

Cuellar, being a Democrat, will probably get soft-pedaled treatment from the media; yet, Trump doesn’t get that benefit, nor did George Santos, who was drummed out of Congress without the benefit of a conviction, just on the strength of an ethics investigation.

Other examples include Sen. Bob Menendez, a Democrat still in office while under indictment for bribery charges, and Maxine Waters and John Conyers, both representatives, sidestepped ethical issues, probably for being liberal.

While you were scratching your head over the fact that the governor of South Dakota shot a dog, illegal aliens are committing heinous crimes in this country.

Many of these crimes were committed by people recently released by judges.

Reports come in from all over, especially in liberal bastions of Rhode Island, Maryland and Massachusetts, but also Alabama and Virginia. In February, ICE arrested 171 illegal aliens on a variety of sex-related charges.

But, hey, look — Mark Hamill was the guest whatever at a recent White House press briefing.

The biggest headline or the splashiest on-screen graphic isn’t necessarily the right kind of news, it could be just what is referred to in the entertainment world as a macguffin — something that seems to advance the plot but essentially is insignificant.

When talking heads, metro dailies or internet sites make a big deal about something, it’s best to check the down-card events. The nuggets buried there can give a better indication of the shape of things than listening to the propaganda artists.
