Onalaska baseball ended its season in the bi-district round of the playoffs Thursday night at Tomball Memorial, after dropping two games 8-6 and 6-5 to Hitchcock.

Wednesday started well for the Onalaska offense, as Wyatt Reyes smack a ground rule double into the corner, Collin Vann followed with an RBI-triple, Pat Roth brought in a run with a base hit, and Trip Teel reached on error, allowing a third run to score.

Hitchcock would answer in the next half inning, collecting four singles, only two of which would leave the infield, to produce two runs.

Onalaska kept the pressure on in the bottom of the second, as Reyes singled and Vann obtained his second RBI on a single to go up 4-2.

The top of the fourth would decide the game. A pair of RBI-singles and three wild pitches accounted for five runs in the inning. Down 4-2, Hitchcock would leave the fourth inning with a 7-4 lead.

That margin would extend by one in the fifth on a sacrifice fly.

Onalaska had one more answer in the bottom of the fifth, when Teel reached by error, Gibson singled and Ty Phillips walked to load the bases. Luke Field and Reyes also took a base on balls to drive in a run each, but the Wildcat threat ended there.

Hitchcock would complete the two-game sweep Thursday in a one-run contest.
