Pieces used in making explosives were uncovered in a Livingston home Monday, landing two in jail.
Livingston Police were notified of a possible pipe bomb found near a home on Banks Drive, which is located near MannaFest and Martin Luther King Drive.
Officers quickly began to evacuate nearby homes and set up a secure perimeter.
The LPD requested help from the Montgomery County Bomb Squad and Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Bomb technicians safely disabled the device and an investigation was started.
A search warrant was executed by Livingston Police on a nearby home and found more explosive components. The residents, Christopher Brian Humphreys, 44, and Shaney Kathleen Humphreys, 37, were arrested on the scene for components of explosives, a third-degree felony. They entered the Polk County Jail after 11 p.m. Monday.
The investigation is still active and more charges are possible. Law enforcement has stated that there is no threat to the public at this time.
