Hardin-Jefferson girls basketball received a bit of breathing room at the top of District 19-4A, defeating Livingston 46-42 Friday.
The win gives the Lady Hawks a lead of two games over the second-place Lady Lions in district. Livingston has lost both of their district games by a combined five points.
Mostly a one-score game until the third quarter, Hardin-Jefferson began to slowly pull away. Livingston had an advantage of five in the third that was erased on an 11-0 Lady Hawk run. With the visitors scoring 22 in the third, it would be the difference in the game.
Taylor Wright led the Lady Lions with 10 points and five assists, Taleah Garner had nine points and five steals. Nariya Johnson had eight points, and Regan Lewis pulled down 13 rebounds.
