Annette Burks Johns was born on July 16, 1937 in Corrigan, Texas to Ocie Dewey Burks and Avis Knox Burks and passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 in her Houston home, surrounded by her loving family.
She grew up in Corrigan, where she graduated from Corrigan High School. After graduation, she moved to Houston, where she lived until her passing.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Lee J. Johns; her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Lisa Johns; and her grandchildren, Ashley Johns and Christopher Johns. She is also survived by her sisters, Elna Ruth Lackey and Patsy Lou Donaldson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ocie and Avis Burks; her infant son, Eric Johns; her sister, Henrietta Yammer; and her brother, Ocie Keith Burks.
A graveside memorial service for the family will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 30.
