The Onalaska Police Department arrested a man Aug. 11 following an investigation into an alleged sexual assault offense involving a child.
Omar Mosqueda, 25, was booked into the Polk County Jail for the aggravated sexual assault of a child. The investigation remains active, and due to the age of the victim and the sensitive nature of the case, no further details regarding the allegations were released.
The Onalaska Police Department said they take every allegation of child abuse and sexual abuse seriously, and that our children deserve to be safe, heard, and protected. They further said that they will continue to ensure allegations of abuse are thoroughly investigated, and that they are proud to serve a community that looks out for its children, as protecting children is the responsibility we all share.
Also mentioned was the appreciation for cooperation and assistance of professionals and agencies who contributed to the investigation, including the Sam Houston Police Department and Childrenz Haven.
