Polk County volunteer firefighters will go head-to-head Oct. 3 during the Battle for the Boot competition at The Lake Life Brewery at 125 Indian Hills Blvd. The free, family-friendly event is hosted by The Lake Life Foundation, a local 501(c)3 non-profit organization, presented by 102.3 The Eagle and will raise funds to support local volunteer fire departments.
The event will begin at noon with opening ceremonies featuring hometown heroes, the Livingston High School JROTC, Pledge of Allegiance and national anthem. The firefighter competition will start at 1 p.m. with teams competing in challenges that test strength, teamwork, skill and dedication.
102.3 The Eagle will broadcast live from the event throughout the day.
Following the competition, live music will be provided by Thunderstruck Jimmy from 6-9 p.m. There will also be local food trucks, vendors and inflatables. An awards ceremony will take place at 7 p.m.
Donations will be accepted throughout the event with proceeds benefiting Polk County volunteer fire departments. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
Community members are invited to bring the family, cheer on local firefighters, enjoy food and music, and show support for the volunteers who protect Polk County.
