Danbury was able to hang on after a furious Big Sandy attempt to even the score in the fourth fell short in a 38-30 game Friday in Dallardsville.
After trailing by double digits, the Big Sandy girls worked to close the gap to a single bucket, but Danbury would be too much. With a distinct size advantage, the Lady Panthers controlled most of three quarters.
However, Macelynn Clark and Paige Cox each connected on two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to put the Lady Cats within two.
Cox ended the contest with nine points and Samara Sadler had the same. Clark finished with six, while Amberlee Smith and Lauren Boyd both scored three.
