Big Sandy girls basketball picked up a district win Tuesday with a shutdown defense, taking a 53-12 decision over Sabine Pass.
The stingy Lady Cats allowed just one made shot in the first half – a 3-pointer with just three minutes remaining in the second quarter. By that time, Big Sandy had built a 22-0 advantage.
All 12 of the Lady Shark points were on made baskets behind the arc. Lady Cat Paige Cox led her team with 14 points, while Samara Sadler had 13, and Macelynn Clark and Braely Fisher had eight apiece.
