Work to install new cable barriers along portions of US 59 in Polk County will begin with barricade placement on Monday.
Newman, Georgia-based contractor Massana Construction Inc. was awarded the contract. The barrier will be installed along US 59 between the intersection with US 190 and 0.34 miles south of Business 59.
Lane and shoulder closures along the inside lanes of the highway will be necessary during construction. Speed limits will also be reduced by 10 miles per hour in and approaching the work zones.
Drivers should slow down and stay alert for changing traffic patterns, workers and equipment in these areas.
