The Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs will look to improve their standing in district play when they travel to Iola Friday night.
Corrigan enters the contest 4-3 overall and with a 2-1 district record following last week’s 26-16 victory over Groveton.
The Bulldogs have won four of their last six games after opening the season with a loss to Hardin.
Iola is still searching for its first victory this season at 0-5 overall and 0-2 in district play, with losses to Buffalo, Cypress Christian, Frankston, Leon and Groveton.
Despite its winless record, Iola has shown offensive potential, scoring 35 points against both Cypress Christian and Groveton.
The maroon Bulldogs are coming off a successful 2025 season under third-year head coach Eric Blenden, finishing 9-4 and reaching the regional semifinals before falling to eventual state champion Shiner, 34-14.
The school moved up to Division I this season and return senior running back Adrian Garret, along with senior tight end and linebacker Jack Smith.
Both teams have faced Leon and Groveton in district competition. Iola fell to Leon 40-22 and Groveton 43-35, while Corrigan lost to Leon 31-21 before defeating Groveton last week.
Friday’s matchup provides Corrigan an opportunity to strengthen its playoff position before an open week. The Bulldogs will return home to face Normangee on Oct. 30.
“Our team has grown, especially in clutch situations. We have some momentum again,“ said Bulldog head coach Brett Ratliff. “We cannot have a letdown like we did against Leon, because Iola is going to come out and play hard.”
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Iola High School.
