Noon on Jan. 12 is the deadline to submit nominations to the Polk County Chamber of Commerce for the awards that will be presented at the organization’s 90th annual Awards Gala slated for Jan. 29 at the Polk County Commerce Center.
The chamber will recognize and honor Large Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Non-Profit Organization of the Year and Polk Countian of the Year. Nomination forms may be picked up at the chamber office located at 1001 Hwy. 59 Loop North in Livingston.
The business of the year awards recognize businesses that have been operating in Polk County for at least three years. The business must demonstrate integrity, financial stability, excellence in customer service, innovation and a strong commitment to the community. The nominees must be current members of the chamber. Contenders for large business of the year will have 21 or more employees, while contenders for small business of the year with have fewer than 21 employees.
The non-profit organization of the year recognizes a non-profit organization or church that invests time and resources to strengthen the community. This organization must demonstrate proactive efforts to raise awareness of the needs of others and take meaningful steps to address those needs through education, connection and service. The nominee must be a current member of the chamber.
The Polk Countian of the Year Award recognizes a true champion of community spirits, someone who goes above and beyond to make Polk County a better place for all. Through their time, talents and leadership, they have sparked positive change and fostered hope. Their commitment to helping others and creating meaningful impact reflects the very best of what it means to serve, leaving a legacy that will be felt for generations.
