Debra Janice Grant was born on April 6, 1953 to Code William Grant and Beatrice Lee Ball in Wood River, Illinois. She passed away from this life on January 3, 2026 in Goodrich, Texas.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Newell and wife Maria; daughters, Christina Hale and husband Charles Sr., and Kimberly Negrete and husband Abraham; sisters, Linda Boatright, Corliss Grant, Cathy Clark and Tameron Lagow; grandchildren, Charles Hale, Jacob Negrete, Ariana Negrete, Caydence Hale and Benjamin Newell; and great-grandson, Charles “Trey” Hale III; as well as many other loved ones and a host of friends.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents, Code and Beatrice Grant, and sister Shirley Woolverton Dickerson.
A visitation for Debra was held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2026 at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. A celebration of Debra’s life was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Interment followed at Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston, Texas.
Pallbearers were Thomas Newell, Abraham Negrete, Jerry Davis, Charles W. Hale, Jacob Negrete and Charles Hale Sr.
