Graveside services for Dorothy Hearne, 95, of Corrigan, were held Friday, March 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the Berry Cemetery with Keith Turner officiating.
Dorothy Helen was born October 7, 1929, in Lufkin, Texas. She was the third of eight children born to the late James Dickson and Charlcie Emma (Haley) Albritton, and died Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. She grew up in the Moffet Community near Lufkin.
Dorothy was a long-time member of the Corrigan Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Corrigan, Texas. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 15, 1947, and served faithfully until her death.
Survivors include her children, Lawana Kay Hearne Gernannt (David) and Robert Dale Hearne (Tara); along with six grandchildren, Kris Harold Magnusson (Rebecca), David Evan Magnusson (Marcie), Roni Kay Magnusson Deramus (David), Tara Ashleigh Hearne Vazquez (Alex), Eric Shane Hearne and Lyndsey Danielle Hearne; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Mary Anne Albritton and Elizabeth Hearne.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Elmo Harold Hearne; sisters, Evelyn Free, Charlene Sharp, Joyce Crain and Patricia Williams; brothers, Jerry Albritton and Gene Albritton; brothers-in-law, R.J. “Red” Free, Warren “Jack” Sharp, Elton Williams, James Robert Crain, Leo Hearne (Rita), Herman Hearne (Maebelle), and Donald Hearne; nephews, Billy Jack Crain, Jimmy Lee Crain, Greg Albritton, Randall Scott Ward and Tracy Williams.
