Egg hunts this weekend

Children will soon lace up their sneakers to collect as many prizes as their basket will carry, with the annual Easter egg hunts in Polk County right around the corner.

The City of Livingston gets everything started Saturday at Pedigo Park. Beginning at 9:30 a.m., capture memories when pictures with the Easter Bunny begin. A petting zoo begins at that same time. At 11 a.m., the egg hunt for ages eight and under starts. There will also be a bicycle drawing for those aged 9-12.

In Goodrich, the Easter egg hunt is also scheduled for Saturday. Their eggs will be placed at 234 Katie Simpson Avenue on the Goodrich ISD track infield. They have filled over 5,000 eggs with candy, money, and prizes over the past three years. The number of children attending the hunt has grown each year. The fun is 1-5 p.m. with hot dogs, chips and drinks served. Pictures with the Easter Bunny are also available.

The City of Goodrich is accepting donations for the hunt, which can be made by contacting city hall at 936-365-2228.
