Mental health walk-a-thon, symposium coming up

The Mental Health Advancement Foundation (MHAF), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing mental health care and education access in Deep East Texas, is hosting its second  annual Mental Health Walk-a-Thon on May 10 at Pedigo Park.

In conjunction with this year’s walk-a-thon, MHAF hosting a Mental Health Symposium with speakers in addition to wellness and mental health vendors. Myra Leal, former actress and wellness advocate will be the opening speaker and will discuss life after recovery. Additionally, a representative from Charles E. Debakey VA Hospital will be present to discuss veteran mental health issues.

Whether you are a mental health advocate, a family member, or someone seeking to learn more, the MHAF Mental Health Walk-a-Thon and Symposium welcomes you to join in this meaningful event to take strides toward a healthier, more compassionate community.
