First concert of 2026 slated for Valentine’s Day

Posted

Livingston Community Concert Association (LCCA) will hold its first concert for 2026 featuring Chris Ruggerio: Teenage Dreams & Magic Moments at 7:30 p.m. on Valentines Day at the Polk County Commerce Center.

Ruggiero is said to take his audiences on a journey through the golden age of rock and roll, breathing new life into the timeless music of the 1950s, 60s and 70s. He has been described as an “old soul” at 26 years old, whose approach to his concert appearances is more in line with that of a bygone era than it is the artists of his generation. What Michael Bublé did for the swing music of the 40s, Chris Ruggiero is doing for the pop-rock generation that followed. He first came to national attention when he performed in concert on one of PBS-TV’s coast-to-coast broadcast specials, which still airs to this day. Since then, Ruggiero has been traveling around the country delivering his unique brand of vintage rock and roll, including sold-out shows in Las Vegas, Cleveland, Florida and New York.

LCCA members will be treated to a variety of music perfect for a Valentine’s date night or just a great evening with friends and fellow Livingston Community Concert members.

Ruggiero’s Facebook page reached over 60 million people last year. He has released four full-length albums since 2021 including “I Am Chris Ruggiero,” which features original arrangements from legendary arranger Charlie Calello on timeless classics such as “Wouldn’t it Be Nice,” “My Cherie Amour,” “The More I See You” and “This Magic Moment.” Calello has had over 100 national records as an arranger and producer, having worked with Frankie Valli, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond and Glen Campbell, to name a few. In an interview that followed, Calello compared Ruggiero’s approach to song interpretation to that of Sinatra.

LCCA officers and board members are excited to offer this magical Valentine’s evening to its members and guests. Renewals for membership are right around the corner in April. Members should look for forthcoming information regarding the next season.

Memberships are available at varying levels: Adult $50, Family $110 (two adults and children), Patron $150, Sponsor $300, Benefactor $500 and Endowment $1,000-plus.
