Four-piece bluegrass, Western band to perform

Posted

The Waddington Brothers, a four-piece bluegrass and Western band who won first place at the International Bluegrass Band Competition in 2023, will present the second concert of the 2025-2026 Livingston Community Concert season at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Polk County Commerce Center located at 1017 U.S. Highway 59 North Loop in Livingston.

“The Waddington Brothers, a band of four brothers from rural North Dakota, perform what they live: music that is real to them, that takes listeners on a journey through the heart of the American West. Seth, Ethan, Jacob and Job skillfully blend cowboy and bluegrass music, creating a style that is timelessly classic and yet refreshingly new and unique.

Their rich, stirring harmonies and instrumental versatility bring familiar favorites like “Old Home Town,” “Less Traveled Road,” and “Red River Valley” to life in a way that is entertaining and engaging for audiences of all ages!”

Seth, oldest brother and father of five, is the guitar player and lead singer. He began playing at age 10 “ … under the tutelage of their father, Caleb Waddington.” Seth mentored his younger brothers in both mandolin and banjo.

Twins Ethan and Jacob build custom log cabins by hand. Ethan started with the five-string banjo at 11 years of age. He also plays upright bass. Jacob has played mandolin since age 12. His first instrument was the drums. His hobby is crafting fine, handmade violins.

Joe, the youngest brother, plays upright bass and sings bass vocals. His passion is older vehicles. He helps his dad in the family tree-trimming business.
