The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) have recognized Good Citizens since 1934. Students receiving the DAR Good Citizen Award show qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. Only one student per high school is selected. This year, Destiny Pennington, the Good Citizen Committee chairman of the Robert Rankin Chapter of the National Society of the DAR, presented awards to Madison Evans of Livingston High School, Paige Cox of Big Sandy High School and Cali Jo Crowder of Coldspring-Oakhurst High School. Each student received a pin, certificate and monetary donation.
