The Big Sandy girls kept it close for a half, but West Hardin was too much in the third and fourth quarters Tuesday, winning a 40-22 game.
A slow start to the first half was the result of the Lady Cats playing a ball-control offense. A few possessions spanned over a minute, allowing Big Sandy to remain in a 10-5 contest at the half.
Full-court pressure in the third and fourth periods caused turnovers, allowing for easier Lady Oiler buckets.
Paige Cox led the home team with eight points, while Amberlee Smith and Samara Sadler had four each. Braely Fischer and Macelynn Clark both scored three.
The loss likely tickets Big Sandy for fourth place in the district and the final playoff spot of 25-2A.
